Baby Shower Decorating Ideas – A Quick Guide

March 7th, 2021

Here are some quick baby shower decorating tips that you’ll love.

Tie balloons and crepe paper to a high back chair or ‘throne’ that the mom-to-be will sit in while she opens her gifts. By doing this you will place the party’s attention on the mom-to-be. This will leave a lasting impression on your guests and it looks great in photographs. Plus, it makes the mom-to-be feel really special. This is a baby shower must.

String crepe paper across the room in the shower theme colors. Any pastel colors will work for this decoration. Try soft pink, soft blue, yellow, and lime-green. You will be amazed at the amount of color this will bring into the room. If you are having a Mod Mom themed shower, for example, then lime green a purple would be the crepe paper colors that you would use to decorate the house.

Decorate the outside of your home. Place a baby shower yard sign in the yard of the house where you are having the party. The yard sign looks like a realtor’s “for sale” sign and comes with adorable baby shower graphics. Or, place a large banner announcing the baby shower on the garage door. This will put your guests in a party mood as they enter your home. Some of the yard signs that you will find actually have an arrow on them, making it a great tool to use to help your guests find the party. Start at the beginning of your neighborhood and place the baby shower yard signs at all of the turns that your guests will need to make. It’s fun for them and gets them into the party before they leave their car!

Scatter colorful confetti on the tables at your baby shower. This is a low cost way to add a little flash and color to your party. The baby shower confetti comes in many varieties, colors, and shapes. You can find rubber ducky shapes, baby strollers, umbrella shapes, and even baby faces on party confetti. Your guests will think that this is so cute.

If you are lucky enough to have an antique baby buggy or a doll baby buggy you will have a great gift holder. For this adorable idea place the baby carriage near the gift table to hold some of the mom-to-be’s gifts. A baby shower always seems more fun when there is a baby buggy at the shower! Plus, it makes for great pictures of all of the gifts.

One symbol that makes a baby shower more festive is our old friend the “Stork”. The Stork is a fun theme for any baby shower. Try the stork activities such as scratch off baby shower games and matching games. The stork also appears on many name tags and other fun decorations that your guests will love.

Arrange colorful helium filled balloons on each table. The easiest way to do this is to locate a party supply store the day of your baby shower and pick up the balloons already inflated and in arrangements. Or, you can buy the balloons prior to the party and go to any store that has helium (grocery stores, party stores) and for a small fee, they can blow the balloons up for you. This small touch will make any baby shower more festive. It is also a fun idea to put balloons on gift tables, hanging in doorways, and anywhere else that needs a little color.

Incorporate an open umbrella into your shower decorations. The umbrella fits nicely into any baby shower theme at any time of year. It is best to use colorful umbrellas. Using small umbrellas in your guest’s drinks will get them the shower mood. Find pink or blue umbrellas to keep to your baby shower theme.

Using any of these quick tips will help you to decorate your baby shower for little money. There are hundreds of other ideas that we have seen at baby showers that are just as cute. Remember to keep the decorating simply tasteful and you will be able to set the mood that you want at your baby shower. Have fun decorating!
